Secure two bedroom, one bath, air-conditioned casita in Cahuita on the beautiful Caribbean coast in Costa Rica. Full kitchen amenities & Wifi with great parking. Set on a lovely private 2700 m2 lot with fruit trees & flowers. Nature abounds with toucans, parrots, howler monkeys sloths & pacas, just to name a few! Has a short 10 minute walk to secluded Playa Negro. 10 minute walk to the center of Cahuita village for dining & music and the main bus terminal that can take you any where in the country. 1.5 hr. bus ride to the Panama border. 15 minute walk to Cahuita National Park, 20 minutes to Sloth farm by bus, Tree of life animal rescue center is a 15 minute walk. The area has excellent hiking, waterfalls, horseback riding, zip-lining, kayaking, surfing, white water rafting, yoga, fishing and snorkelling. What more could you ask for?

Summary: I spend 3 weeks in Casa Amarilla. Its’ a small house on a beautiful property close to the main highway. It was not as quiet as I had hoped for. It’s not easy to find some better directions would be helpful. The most I liked was the outdoor living room. It has tasteful and comfortable furniture. It was nice to watch the wildlife in my backyard. It is not screened so at sundown when the mosquitos come I had to go inside but there is no seating area with a little table so I ended up sitting on my bed. The kitchen is more set up for people going out for meals or using a Microwave what I didn’t do. Before I rented I asked if there is a stove because I knew I was going to cook a lot and I was told that there is a gas stove. When I got to the house I was shocked that it was a an electric one. Electricity goes off often especially during the rainy season, which is no ones fault, but having a gas stove at least I would be able to cook. I knew that Alexandra , the caretaker would not be there to greet me what was fine with me. She had send someone to the bus station to drive me to the house. The house inside was clean, the beds were made but the kitchen and the outdoor living room weren’t really set up, there was no drinking water , things were not functioning …not very inviting, knowing that I was coming. It was very musty inside the house because all the windows were closed which took hours to get some fresh air circulating. Alexandra was nice but slow to get things fixed, when I was leaving some things still hadn’t been taken care of. If things would be taken care of and be fixed before a guest arrives and with some TLC and someone with an eye for detail , it is a nice place. The jungle garden with Coconut trees, fruit trees, healing plants, and flowers is a paradise which was my favorite place to be.
