This house built in 1900 is the typical construction of Catalan fishermen of the time. The owners renovated it in 2021 and gave it to PREMIUM HABITAT so that our clients can enjoy it as much as they did.
Arenys de Mar is a fishing village founded more than 400 years ago. Originally the buildings were huts on the beach near the sea where the fishermen lived next to the fishing gear.
The house is located in a privileged location, next to the marina and fishing port, close to all services. In the same street we can find one of the 13 fortified towers that were built in the Vila to alert and protect the population from the presence of pirate ships.
In the renovation of the house the essence has been preserved: high ceilings with wooden beams, hydraulic tile floor, large windows with wooden shutters to sift the light and preserve privacy.
On the first floor the interior patio has been maintained, which was originally used by fishermen to mend fishing nets and sails, as well as to store fishing tools. It is currently used as an outdoor dining room next to the kitchen, which also has a dining area in a corner. On this floor we also find 1 bathroom with shower and living room with fireplace.
On the second floor there are 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom with bathtub in the same style as the original cast iron bathtubs. 1 of the bedrooms has access to a terrace that was once used for drying fish and is currently the laundry room and clothesline.
The second floor was used as an attic and with the reform was transformed into a children's playroom and 1 room that is used as an office and library, also has a double sofa bed. It has access to a solarium with outdoor dining area to enjoy the sea breeze on summer nights.
The house has air conditioning in all rooms, also has underfloor heating on the first floor and centralized heating in the other rooms on the first and second floor.
