The Space:
This luxurious, yet cozy property consists of 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a fully-equipped open plan kitchen, a large outdoor cooking space, multiple living spaces on both levels and a large outdoor swimming pool, as well as many other amenities that will ensure a seamless, relaxing and enjoyable stay.
THE SPACE
Marea is a masterpiece. Every inch of this stunning property has been carefully planned and beautifully executed. Top-quality hardwood finishings, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows, and locally sourced natural stone feature throughout the property and define its characteristic sleek, contemporary style. The spaces have been decorated using a fascinating blend of minimal/clean decor with some key colorful elements that stand out, making each room feel unique and memorable. Nothing has been overlooked: the home features top-end appliances, genuine Moroccan rugs, imported designer lighting, a Sonos sound system, 77” television, Grenada tile in every bathroom, luxurious bedlinens, and blackout shades in every bedroom.
Entering the property, one is greeted by beautifully landscaped tropical plants surrounding a large, serene swimming pool. The architecture of the house provides respite from the sun, but the pool itself is reliably warmed by the tropical sun for many hours each day, so it is always comfortable. A fountain feature, dining table for six, and a generous outdoor cooking area equipped with a large grill make this an ideal space for entertaining guests or sharing with friends and family. For convenience, there is also a powder room and secondary laundry facility beside the pool, as well as an outdoor shower. There is a second outdoor shower on the other side of the house - for when you are returning from the beach!
The main living area is a modern, spacious plan dining, kitchen, and main living area combined. The dining table seats eight and the kitchen has additional bar seating. The space is beautifully appointed and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that maximize airflow and natural light. This area also features central air conditioning. So whether the sliding doors are open to enjoy the breeze or closed to enjoy the AC, guests will enjoy the views of the pool courtyard on one side and the jungle on the other.
The ground floor is completed by a three-room suite equipped with a king size bed from Massaya & Co, ensuite bathroom, and attached living space. The space is designed to so that the bedroom and bathroom can be closed separately from the living space, allowing flexibility to use the secondary living space for all the guests – or not! The downstairs bedroom features sliding glass doors that lead directly to the jungle and, Marea’s path to the surf break.
The second level features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. There is a family suite consisting of a queen bedroom, shared bathroom with double sinks, and a bedroom with two twin beds. All furniture is solid teak from Masasya & co.
At either end of the hallway two identical master suites boast queen beds, enormous closets, Grenada Tile, and custom, built-in bedframes with teak accents designed by the owners. One of the second level master suites enjoys private access to one of our favorite features of this property - the spacious covered terrace located on the top floor, overlooking both the pool courtyard and the jungle. There is separate access to this space through another door in the hallway, so it can be enjoyed by everyone in your group. It is a perfect place for yoga, socializing, or solitude with morning coffee, cocktails, or your favorite book. Sit back and take in the sounds of crashing waves in the distance as you unwind and enjoy your stay.
