Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: It is close to the beach but the beach is one of the worst ones in the area. The town is a dump and a ghost town at night. You will need a car to go out for dinner, we had good poisoning the first night. We had the cabins across the street right next to the ghetto. They give you so many rules to read and sign but the first night the cabin next to us partied until 4:00am and the security staff did nothing about it. They give you beach towels but won’t exchange them unless you are there for four days. The small pool on this side has one broken lounger and not really any other seating. You are not really allowed to use the other pool even though no one was there.

Summary: I would skip Manzanillo altogether and stay closer to the town of Puerto Viejo
