From the Benalmádena marina, you can walk all the way along a flat promenade to Torremolinos, with numerous bars and restaurants for refreshments. A little further away are the caves of Nerja and the tour of the city of Malaga. Granada offers full day excursions to visit the Alhambra, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Gibraltar and also Tangier in Morocco. If you do not want a scheduled tour or coach trip, you can always find a taxi for local excursions and there are regular coastal bus services that run along the coast. The local train station is just ten minutes walk from Minerva in Arroyo de la Meil, from where you can travel along the coast from Malaga to Gibralta, the trains have an excellent quality-price ratio. Trains depart from the city of Malaga every 30 minutes, well worth seeing the Moorish ruins of Gibralfaro and the new Picasso Museum.
